This year’s event supports the London Food Bank and is brought to you by our platinum sponsor, The Top Shop. Funds raised through the Race will go towards two different areas. Some of the funds raised will be used to install a food preparation room. The room will consist of restaurant grade sinks, counters, and a storage area and will be used to help break down bulk food items in a safe and efficient manner.

This lasting enhancement will enable the ability to receive more bulk donations from corporate food producers and feed more families as well as increase efficiency in dividing up bulk products currently received. This room has been a dream for the London Food bank for several years, but the cost of the trade skills required to build the room (approximately $7,000), has been too high to complete on their own.

Funds in excess of the food preparation room will go towards paying down the mortgage, which will also have a lasting impact on the London Food Bank for years to come. As the principal balance on the mortgage is paid down, there will be less interest costs to the London Food Bank. Those savings can be passed on to clients, and be used for purchasing food.
